SPEEDING AND AGGRAVATED SPEEDING

If you are charged with Speeding it is wise to hire a Traffic attorney, however, if you are charged with Aggravated Speeding, it is vital to hire an experienced Traffic Attorney.
The attorneys at Pechter & Pechter LLP have experience defending those who have been charged with Speeding and Aggravated Speeding and will work to reach the very best disposition possible.

What is Speeding?

Generally, speeding is driving a vehicle upon a public road above a posted speed limit. Speeding is generally considered a petty offense.

What is Aggravated Speeding?

A person commits the offense of Aggravated Speeding when they drive 26 miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable speed limit.
A person who drives a vehicle 26-34 miles per hour over the posted speed limit commits a Class B misdemeanor.
A person who drives a vehicle 35 miles per hour or more over the posted speed limit commits a Class A misdemeanor.
Many people do not realize how important it is to hire an experienced Traffic Attorney if they are charged with Aggravated Speeding because they do not realize how serious the State believes the offense to be. Not only does it have driver’s license implications, but the Class A misdemeanor is punishable up to 364 days in jail and a fine up to $2,500. The Class B misdemeanor is punishable up to 6 months in jail and a fine up to $1,500.
